The Senate Minority Leader for the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP), Godswill Akpabio, has on Thursday, December 10, been sacked from the
National Assembly by the Appeal Court.
According to SaharaReporters, the Federal Court of Appeal
announced yesterday, December 10, that violations to the Electoral Act during
the senatorial election between Mr. Akpabio and the All Progressives Congress
candidate Inibehe Okori informed their ruling.
The Appeal Court also ordered a rerun election in Akwa Ibom
State within 90 days.
Mr. Akpabio was two-term governor of Akwa Ibom State, and a
Senator representing the State.
